858 (~aṁ vā pi nirattaṁ vā na tasmiṁ upalabbhati;
Nidd); 919 (where the Mss read n'atthi attā kuto
nirattaṁ vā; Nidd attaṁ); Pj & Nidd give double
explanation stating a pun on atta (grasped, adopted,
supposed) and atta(n) (the soul); [the new form 1atta
for atta(n) was favoured by this pun, and likewise
the spelling nir-atta]. Cf. the comp.s below: attañjaha,
