Ekāsanadāyaka

, m., Npr. of a thera (PPN I 452);
his apadāna at Ap 381,1-382,23; he is so called because,
in a previous birth, he gave a seat
(v. s.v. 2ekâsana 2.b.)
to Padumuttara Buddha; as a reward he was provided with
seats, etc., whenever and wherever he wished;
hatthi-
yānaṁ assa-yānaṁ ... labhāmi sabbam ev' etaṁ, ekāsan-
ass' idaṁ phalaṁ; ... yadā icchāmi āsanaṁ mama saṅ-
kappaṁ aññāya pallaṅko upatiṭṭhati, Ap 382,5-10; he
enjoyed enviable rebirths
(382,13-14): duggatiṁ nâbhi-
jānāmi, ekāsanass' idaṁ phalaṁ (382,18); finally ne was
anāsava (382,16); ~o thero imā gāthā abhāsittha, 382,22;
